The 2026 PFA Awards celebrated the standout performers across English football, with Bruno Fernandes, Nico O'Reilly, Bunny Shaw and several other stars taking home major honours.


The annual ceremony recognises players across the Premier League, Women's Super League and EFL, with the winners selected by their fellow professionals.

Bruno Fernandes wins the top men's award

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes was named the Men's PFA Players' Player of the Year after an impressive 2025/26 campaign.


The Portuguese midfielder was selected by his fellow professionals, adding another major individual honour to his career.

Manchester City youngster Nico O'Reilly also enjoyed a memorable night after winning the Men's PFA Young Player of the Year award.

Bunny Shaw leads the women's awards

Manchester City striker Khadija "Bunny" Shaw was named the Women's PFA Players' Player of the Year.


Arsenal forward Olivia Smith collected the Women's PFA Young Player of the Year award.

In the WSL2, Lily Crosthwaite of Birmingham City won the Players' Player of the Year award.

The Championship award went to Hayden Hackney, with the Middlesbrough midfielder receiving the PFA Players' Player of the Year prize after being voted for by his fellow professionals.


In League One, Dom Ballard of Leyton Orient took the award, while Aaron Drinan of Swindon Town was named the League Two winner.

The Young Player winners

The young-player awards also produced two notable winners.


Nico O'Reilly was crowned the men's Young Player of the Year after his breakthrough campaign with Manchester City.

In the WSL, Olivia Smith claimed the women's equivalent after an impressive season with Arsenal.

Defenders: Kerstin Casparij, Tōko Koga, Ellie Carpenter, Emily Fox
Midfielders: Yui Hasegawa, Mariona Caldentey, Jessica Park
Forwards: Bunny Shaw, Alessia Russo, Lauren James.

Karen Carney receives PFA Merit Award

Former England international Karen Carney OBE was also recognised with the 2026 PFA Merit Award.


The honour recognises her outstanding contribution to football, both during her playing career and through her continued work in the women's game.

Carney enjoyed an 18-year playing career and represented England 144 times before becoming a prominent broadcaster, analyst and advocate for the development of women's football.

A night celebrating English football

The 2026 ceremony showcased the depth of talent across the English game, from established Premier League stars to emerging young players and standout performers in the EFL and women's competitions.


For Fernandes, Shaw and the other Players' Player winners, the awards carry particular significance because they were chosen by their fellow professionals.
