Dasun Shanaka produced a stunning piece of Caribbean Premier League history as the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots defeated the Saint Lucia Kings by a record 137 runs at Warner Park.
The Sri Lankan all-rounder smashed the fastest century in CPL history, reaching three figures from just 39 balls before finishing unbeaten on 121 from 43 deliveries.
The Patriots then completed the job with the ball, bowling Saint Lucia out for just 98 in 13.5 overs. The result gave St Kitts & Nevis the biggest winning margin by runs in CPL history.
Shanaka Rewrites the CPL Record Book
The Patriots did not have everything under control at the beginning.
They lost Kyle Mayers early, but Andre Fletcher and Johnson Charles rebuilt the innings before Shanaka took over.
Fletcher was particularly aggressive, reaching his fifty from only 23 balls before eventually falling for 64.
Then Shanaka changed the entire complexion of the match.
He reached his half-century from 24 deliveries before accelerating towards a remarkable century from only 39 balls. That broke the previous CPL record of 40 balls, previously shared by Andre Russell, Tim Seifert and Shimron Hetmyer.
Shanaka finished with 121 not out, including eight fours and 12 sixes.
His strike rate was above 280.
That is the sort of innings that makes bowlers start checking whether there is another profession available.
Patriots Finish With 235
Shanaka's assault completely transformed the Patriots' innings.
St Kitts & Nevis scored 79 runs during the final four overs, surging from a competitive position to a massive 235 for four after 20 overs.
The Patriots had established the platform through Fletcher and Charles, but Shanaka supplied the finishing power.
His unbeaten 121 meant the Kings faced a target of 236, requiring one of the biggest successful chases in CPL history.
Instead, the chase barely got started.
Kings Collapse Under Pressure
Saint Lucia's response immediately went wrong.
Kamil Pooran was dismissed in the opening over before John Campbell and Charith Asalanka also departed during the Powerplay.
The Kings reached the end of six overs at 46 for three, leaving themselves with an enormous task.
Tim Seifert offered some resistance and reached a half-century, but wickets continued to fall around him.
The Patriots' bowling attack kept the pressure on, and Jeremiah Louis eventually delivered the decisive blow to the Kings' hopes.

Louis finished with remarkable figures of 5-10 from 2.5 overs.
He struck twice in the 10th over and returned later to clean up the lower order, completing a five-wicket haul as Saint Lucia were bowled out for 98.
Only three Kings batters reached double figures, with Seifert's 50 providing almost all of the meaningful resistance.
The final margin was therefore 137 runs.
It was not simply a big victory. It was a new CPL record.

The Patriots' 137-run triumph surpassed the previous CPL record winning margin of 133 runs.
