Ecuadorās Richard Carapaz claimed a stunning solo victory in Stage 18 of the Tour de France, launching a decisive late attack to win on the demanding Alpine climb to OrciĆØres-Merlette.
The 185.2km stage from Voiron marked the start of the raceās final mountain battles ā and Carapaz delivered one of the most memorable rides of the Tour so far.
