Manchester United are reportedly targeting a second major raid on Brighton, with Ferdi Kadioglu emerging as a potential £50 million signing after Carlos Baleba's move to Old Trafford.
United have already agreed a deal for Baleba and could now return to Brighton for another of their standout players.
Kadioglu has been identified as a target as Michael Carrick looks to strengthen his defensive options, particularly at left-back.
Recent reports have suggested that United have reached an agreement worth around £40m, although the wider reporting around the fee remains inconsistent.
United's Brighton raid continues
The potential Kadioglu move would come immediately after United's pursuit of Baleba.
The Cameroon international is reportedly heading to Manchester in a deal worth £65m plus £5m in add-ons, making him another significant investment for the Red Devils.
Now Kadioglu has unexpectedly become the next Brighton player linked with a move to Old Trafford.
The Turkey international was voted Brighton's men's Player of the Season after an impressive 2025/26 campaign, making him one of the Seagulls' most highly rated players.
Why United want Kadioglu
Kadioglu's versatility is one of his biggest attractions.
Primarily a left-back, the 26-year-old can also operate on the right and further forward, giving Carrick additional tactical flexibility
.
His performances last season were particularly impressive. Kadioglu made 34 Premier League starts, establishing himself as Brighton's first-choice left-back and becoming an important part of Fabian Hürzeler's side.
That versatility could prove valuable for United as they look to build greater depth across their defence.
Luke Shaw factor
United's interest also makes sense from a longer-term perspective.
Luke Shaw remains an important option, but his injury history means United need reliable alternatives in the position.
Kadioglu could provide immediate competition while potentially becoming a long-term solution at left-back.
United have also been linked with other options, including Newcastle's Lewis Hall, but the Brighton defender now appears to be gaining serious attention.
Brighton face another major decision
Brighton have become accustomed to losing key players to bigger clubs, but Kadioglu's departure would still represent a significant blow.
The defender only joined the Seagulls from Fenerbahçe in 2024 and enjoyed a breakthrough campaign after a difficult first season in England.
Brighton's own official awards confirmed just how highly he is regarded, with supporters voting him their men's Player of the Season.
The Seagulls would therefore have to decide whether United's offer is too good to reject.
Is £50m enough?
Reports currently differ on the exact figure.
Earlier reporting suggested Brighton could demand around €50m, equivalent to roughly £43m, while today's reports have suggested a deal around £40m. Other reports have continued to frame the potential transfer around the £50m mark.
That means United may ultimately need to push closer to Brighton's preferred valuation if they want to complete the deal.
For now, the key point is that Kadioglu is being seriously linked with United, but the transfer is not yet confirmed.
A remarkable double raid
If United eventually secure both Baleba and Kadioglu, it would represent an extraordinary piece of business involving one club.
Baleba would strengthen Carrick's midfield, while Kadioglu would provide another high-quality defensive option.
And United may not be finished yet.
With the transfer window entering its final stages, the Red Devils' pursuit of Brighton players could become one of the biggest stories of deadline week.
Baleba could be on his way to Old Trafford. Now Kadioglu has emerged as United's next Brighton target.
