The 2026 Solheim Cup is approaching its opening tee shots, with world No. 1 Nelly Korda among the biggest names preparing to lead Team USA against Europe in the Netherlands.
The biennial women's team competition will take place from September 11-13 at Bernardus Golf near Den Bosch, with Team USA arriving as defending champions. The Americans defeated Europe 15½-12½ in the 2024 edition and will now attempt to retain the trophy on European soil.
Korda enters the tournament in excellent form. The American has established herself as one of the leading figures in women's golf and will be expected to play a major role in the American challenge.
Her experience in the Solheim Cup could prove particularly valuable. Korda has already competed in four editions of the competition and understands the unique pressure created by team golf, where every hole can carry consequences far beyond an individual tournament.
Europe, meanwhile, will be determined to reclaim the trophy on home soil. The European side will be captained by Anna Nordqvist, while Angela Stanford will lead the United States.
The competition will feature foursomes, fourballs and singles matches across three days, creating a completely different challenge from the normal individual tournament schedule.
For Team USA, the objective is clear: defend the Solheim Cup. For Europe, the task is to turn home advantage into victory.
