Leipzig Run Riot Against Hamburg
RB Leipzig produced the most emphatic performance of the day, sweeping aside Hamburg 5–0 at the Red Bull Arena.
Leipzig were already ahead inside the opening half, with Kouassi Gomis opening the scoring before Antonio Nusa doubled the advantage in the 28th minute.
The hosts continued to dominate after the interval. Willi Orbán added a third in the 72nd minute before Christopher Nkunku made it 4–0 just two minutes later.
Rômulo completed the rout in the 77th minute, giving Leipzig a five-goal victory and leaving Hamburg with another difficult afternoon.
The result was particularly significant for Hamburg, who have now suffered consecutive 5–0 Bundesliga defeats. Their manager acknowledged progress despite the heavy scoreline, but the defensive problems are becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
For Leipzig, however, it was exactly the kind of performance that can build momentum early in a season.
Kane Rescues Bayern in Elversberg
Bayern Munich had to work considerably harder for their three points.
SV Elversberg took a surprise lead in the 26th minute through Lennart Karl, putting Bayern under immediate pressure.
The Bundesliga champions eventually responded after the break. Maurice Krattenmacher equalised shortly after the hour mark, curling an impressive effort into the top corner.
Bayern then found the decisive goal through Harry Kane.
After Michael Olise struck the woodwork in the 70th minute, Kane produced the moment Bayern needed two minutes later, finishing calmly to complete the comeback.
The 2–1 victory moved Bayern onto seven points, keeping them firmly among the early leaders. Elversberg, despite the defeat, remain on six points after an impressive start to life in the Bundesliga.
What Sunday's Results Mean
Leipzig will take enormous confidence from their five-goal demolition, while Bayern will be relieved to leave Elversberg with maximum points.
The biggest difference was the manner of victory: Leipzig overwhelmed their opponent, while Bayern had to fight for theirs.
With three matchdays completed, the Bundesliga is already producing plenty of surprises — and Sunday's results suggest this season may have considerably more twists ahead.
