Al-Taawoun Hit With Two-Match Stadium Ban After Diogo Jota Chants

Al-Taawoun have been handed a two-match stadium ban and a financial penalty after supporters directed chants referencing the late Diogo Jota towards Al-Hilal midfielder Rúben Neves during their Saudi Pro League meeting.

The disciplinary action comes after the incident overshadowed Al-Hilal's emphatic 6-0 victory, with a section of the Al-Taawoun support repeatedly chanting Jota's name in an apparent attempt to provoke Neves.

The Portuguese midfielder, who was a close friend and former international teammate of Jota, visibly reacted to the chants during the match.
