Arena Alert: Rafael Leão's future at AC Milan has taken another turn, with Saudi Arabian clubs now expected to enter discussions with the Portugal international's representatives alongside Galatasaray.

The Milan winger remains a possible departure before the transfer window closes, despite recent signs that his future at San Siro could be heading in the opposite direction.

According to the latest reports, Saudi interest is developing at the player level, while Galatasaray remain involved in the situation. Fenerbahçe had also explored a move for Leão earlier in the summer.

However, there is still no agreement for the 27-year-old to leave Milan, and the situation remains open. Recent developments have also made clear that Leão himself is unhappy with some of the speculation surrounding his future.

Saudi Interest Adds Another Option to Leão's Uncertain Future

The emergence of Saudi clubs could significantly change the transfer picture.

Until recently, the strongest reported interest had come from Turkey, with Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe both linked with attempts to take Leão away from Serie A.

Now, Saudi clubs are preparing to hold discussions with the player's camp, potentially giving Leão another route out of Milan.
That does not mean a transfer is imminent.

The next stage is expected to involve conversations with Leão's representatives, after which the level of interest and financial possibilities should become clearer.

For Milan, the arrival of Saudi competition could also create a different market for one of their most valuable assets.

Galatasaray Remain in the Picture

Galatasaray have been one of the most persistent clubs linked with Leão throughout the summer.

Reports in July suggested that the Turkish champions were exploring a deal after Fenerbahçe also pushed for the Portuguese winger.

Galatasaray's interest became particularly relevant because Leão was reportedly more attracted to a club competing in the Champions League.

The Turkish market has nevertheless struggled to produce a breakthrough.

Fenerbahçe previously stepped up their pursuit and were reported to have considered a proposal worth around €40 million, while Milan's valuation has been reported at considerably higher levels depending on the source and structure of the proposed deal.

Galatasaray therefore have competition not only from their domestic rivals but potentially from Saudi clubs capable of offering a completely different financial package.

Fenerbahçe Already Tested Milan's Resolve

Fenerbahçe's interest is not new.

The Istanbul club made an attempt for Leão around three weeks ago, but a transfer did not materialise.

Earlier reports suggested that Fenerbahçe were prepared to make Leão one of the highest-paid players at the club, while negotiations over Milan's asking price remained a separate obstacle.

The failure to complete that move did not necessarily end the wider possibility of Leão leaving Italy.

Instead, it left Milan waiting for a proposal capable of satisfying their financial expectations and a destination that the player would be willing to accept.

Saudi interest could now provide another piece of that puzzle.
