Curtis Jones has completed his transfer from Liverpool to Inter Milan, bringing his 16-year association with his boyhood club to an end. The 25-year-old completed his medical in Milan before finalising the move.

The transfer is worth around £30 million (€35m), with Liverpool receiving a guaranteed portion plus potential add-ons. Jones has agreed a five-year contract with Inter.
Jones finally leaves Liverpool
Jones joined Liverpool's academy at the age of nine and progressed through the ranks before making his senior debut in 2019.
He went on to make 228 appearances, scoring 22 goals, while collecting two Premier League titles, two Carabao Cups, an FA Cup and the Club World Cup.

Now, after more than a decade in Liverpool colours, the midfielder is heading to Serie A for the first time.
Inter win the race for their long-term target

Inter had identified Jones as a midfield target as far back as January and maintained their interest throughout the summer.
Liverpool had initially valued the midfielder closer to €40m, but his contract situation played an important role in the eventual agreement. Jones was entering the final year of his Liverpool contract, making a sale this summer preferable to potentially losing him for nothing next year.

The deal eventually reached the £30m mark, allowing Inter to secure the midfielder they had pursued for months.
A new chapter in Milan
Jones arrives at Inter with the ability to operate in several midfield positions.
His versatility, technical quality and experience at the highest level should give Inter another option in the middle of the pitch as they prepare for the new Serie A campaign.
For Jones, meanwhile, the move represents a chance to establish himself outside England and take on a completely different challenge.
After growing up at Liverpool and spending his entire professional career with the Reds, Serie A will be unfamiliar territory.
Liverpool lose another academy graduate

The emotional side of the transfer will not be lost on Liverpool supporters.
Jones was one of their own — a player who joined the academy as a child and eventually became a senior international.
But with the midfielder's contract situation and his place in Liverpool's midfield hierarchy becoming increasingly complicated, the club have ultimately decided that the £30m package represents acceptable value.
Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola had previously highlighted the importance of Jones, but the club have now sanctioned his departure.

Curtis Jones' Liverpool story is over. His next chapter will be written in black and blue.
