Ipswich Town have reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Argentina international midfielder Exequiel Palacios, with the transfer now moving toward its final stages.

After lengthy negotiations, Ipswich and Leverkusen have finally reached an agreement for Palacios.
Reports differ slightly on the exact structure of the fee, but the latest information puts the deal at around €22.5 million guaranteed, potentially rising to €27.5 million with add-ons. Other German reports have described the package as €25 million plus €5 million in bonuses.
The midfielder is now expected to travel to England for his medical before completing the remaining formalities.
Palacios Set for Premier League Move
The 27-year-old Argentine is leaving Bayer Leverkusen after more than six years with the Bundesliga club.
Palacios joined Leverkusen from River Plate in January 2020 and went on to make 186 competitive appearances, scoring 15 goals and registering 17 assists.
His biggest achievement came with Argentina, when he was part of the squad that won the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
