Liverpool have entered the race for Crystal Palace winger Ismaïla Sarr as the Reds explore attacking alternatives ahead of the transfer deadline. Liverpool have approached Palace about a potential deal, although the London club currently have no intention of selling the Senegal international.
Liverpool Make Approach
Liverpool's interest in Sarr has emerged after their pursuit of Yankuba Minteh stalled. The Reds are looking to strengthen their wide options and have now identified the 28-year-old Palace forward as another possibility.
Reports indicate that Liverpool have gone as far as making an approach to Palace, with one report claiming an opening offer of around £50 million was submitted and rejected.
Palace Don't Want to Sell
The biggest obstacle is Crystal Palace's stance.
Palace currently consider Sarr not for sale, with the winger still having three years remaining on his contract. Manager Pierre Sage has also indicated that he expects Sarr to remain at the club.
That means Liverpool could have to make a significantly improved proposal if they want to change Palace's position before the transfer window closes.
Sarr's Importance to Palace
Sarr has become an important attacking player for Palace since arriving from Marseille in 2024.
The Senegal international enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 campaign, helping Palace to success in the FA Cup and Europa Conference League, while contributing 21 goals during the season.
His pace, versatility and experience in the Premier League make him an attractive option for Liverpool as they search for another attacking player.
Liverpool Looking at Multiple Options
Sarr is not the only winger on Liverpool's radar.
The Reds remain interested in Bradley Barcola, while their negotiations with Brighton over Minteh have stalled after Brighton rejected multiple offers. Liverpool are therefore exploring alternatives rather than relying on one target.
Sarr's Premier League experience could make him an appealing option if Liverpool decide they need a player who can adapt immediately.
Sevens Sports Arena Verdict
🚨 ARENA ALERT: Liverpool have entered the race for Ismaïla Sarr.
The Reds have approached Crystal Palace about the Senegalese winger, but Palace currently have no intention of letting him leave.
A reported £50 million offer has already been rejected, meaning Liverpool would likely need to significantly increase their proposal to have any chance of changing Palace's stance.
The race is on — but Sarr remains a Crystal Palace player for now.
