Dave Meltzer Reveals Latest on Bayley Amid WWE Contract Uncertainty

Bayley’s WWE future remains uncertain, with wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer reporting that the former Women’s Champion has not yet signed a new contract with WWE.

Meltzer’s latest comments have added to speculation surrounding Bayley, who has been absent from WWE television since her loss to Lyra Valkyria at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18.

Meltzer: Bayley Has a Decision to Make

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer said the information he has received is that Bayley is still weighing her options.

"“Bayley has a decision to make. She has not signed a contract.”"

Meltzer explained that Bayley’s return to television could depend entirely on whether she agrees to a new WWE deal.

If she re-signs, Meltzer believes WWE could immediately have a storyline waiting for her, potentially involving Lyra Valkyria.

Lyra Valkyria Storyline Could Continue

Bayley’s defeat to Valkyria at Madison Square Garden has taken on additional significance because WWE could use the match as either the beginning of another storyline or as Bayley’s farewell appearance.

Meltzer suggested that if Bayley signs a new contract, WWE could bring her back to confront Valkyria and continue their rivalry.

If she does not re-sign, however, the Madison Square Garden match could effectively serve as her write-off from WWE television.

That uncertainty has left fans questioning whether they have seen the last of Bayley in WWE.

Her friendship with Mercedes Moné, formerly known as Sasha Banks, has naturally fueled discussion about a possible AEW reunion.
